Labour ComplianceThe Government of Nagaland on June 04, 2026, issued the Draft Nagaland Code on Wages Rules, 2026.

The State Government of Nagaland has issued a draft notification under Section 67 of the Code on Wages, 2019, following the enforcement of the Code through notification dated November 21, 2025. The draft rules aim to operationalize the provisions of the Code within the state and have been published for public awareness and stakeholder consultation.

A period of 30 days from the date of publication in the Official Gazette has been provided for submitting objections or suggestions. All feedback received within this period from individuals, organizations, or other stakeholders will be considered by the State Government before finalizing the rules.

Stakeholders can submit their representations to the Labour Commissioner, Nagaland, at the Office of the Labour Commissioner, New Secretariat Complex, Kohima, or through the designated email address. This ensures an inclusive approach in framing the final rules under the Code on Wages.

Once finalized and notified, the rules will govern wage-related matters in the state in alignment with the central legislation, ensuring a standardized and modern framework for wage regulation in Nagaland.
